About the Training

Learn tint from someone who does it every day.

Window tint is a trade skill. You can watch videos for months and still freeze the first time you are standing in front of a real back glass with a piece of film in your hands. The gap between watching and doing is the whole problem, and the only way across it is reps with someone watching your hands.

That is what this course is. You come to our shop in Yakima, you work on real vehicles, and you get corrected in real time when your technique drifts. No auditorium, no watching over someone's shoulder from the back of a room.

Tint installation commonly bills in the range of $200 per hour of shop time, which is why so many detailers and shop owners add it. What you actually earn depends on your market, your pricing, and how much work you bring in, but the skill itself is a strong one to own.

We recommend the 2 day course for almost everyone. One pass through a curriculum teaches you what to do, but it does not build muscle memory. The second day is where the technique stops feeling foreign and starts feeling automatic, and it costs less per day than booking the 1 day course twice.

Hand Cutting Technique

How to cut film accurately on the glass without damaging paint, trim, or gaskets. The foundation everything else sits on.

Window Film Installation

Prep, slip solution, squeegee technique, and edge work. How to lay film down clean and get it to stay that way.

Heat Shrinking Technique

Forming flat film to curved glass. This is the skill that takes the longest to click and the one that separates clean work from callbacks.

Plotter & Software Use

How computer cut patterns work, when they help, when hand cutting is faster, and how to run the software without guessing.

How to Get Your First Customers

The part most training skips. How to price, where the early work actually comes from, and how to turn a new skill into paying jobs.

Working in a Real Shop

You train in a shop that runs tint jobs every week, so you see how a real workflow is set up rather than a classroom version of one.

Why Train With Us

Never more than two students.

We don't stuff classes full

One to two students is the hard cap. It would be easy to take six and make more money on the same day, but then nobody gets real time at the glass. If you are paying to be taught in person, you should actually be taught in person.

You work on real vehicles

Not flat practice glass, not a demo panel on a table. Real door glass and real back glass, because the curves and the trim are exactly where beginners get stuck.

Film and tools are provided

You do not need to buy a kit before you know whether you like the work. Everything you need for the class is here. Show up ready to work.

Built for beginners

We assume you have never touched window film. There is no prerequisite, no prior experience needed, and no part of the class where we expect you to already know something.

Do I need any experience to take this class?+

No. The course is built for beginners. We start from the fundamentals and assume you have never handled window film before.

How many students are in each class?+

One to two students maximum. We do not fill classes to capacity because one on one time at the glass is the entire point of in person training.

Do I need to bring my own tools or film?+

No. All film and tools needed for the class are provided. You just need to show up ready to work.

Will I be working on real vehicles?+

Yes. You train on real vehicles in a working shop, not on flat practice glass. Real door glass and real back glass are where the skill actually gets built.

Should I take the 1 day or the 2 day course?+

We recommend the 2 day course for most people. Both cover the same curriculum, but the second day is dedicated to repetition on more vehicles and more panels, with extra time on heat shrinking. One pass through a curriculum does not build muscle memory.

Where is the training held?+

All training is held at our shop at 1001 University Parkway in Yakima, Washington. We do not travel to other locations.
